Hey guys, cool story to tell you!
So earlier this summer I was talking with some of my co-workers here at camp and the topic of comics came up. When I mentioned that I liked sonic comics, one of my friends said that they had a ton of sonic comics at home they didn't want, and said they might give them to me.
Needless to say (though I'm saying it anyway) I was pretty excited, however, weeks passed and nothing happened along the lines of comics, eventually I forgot all about them. Then, one day when I was getting off work for my day off, I checked the bulletin board to see what was going on later today. There, pinned to the bulletin board in a plastic case, was a Sonic the hedgehog comic and a not with my name on it. The note contained a riddle, and once I had solved the riddle and went to the next location, some person came up to me and gave me another comic with a new note and a new riddle. IT WAS AWESOME! I spent the whole day on this scavenger hunt solving riddles and earning comics!
by the end of the day. The last riddle led me to a building, where I was to search for "The Motherload". I spent 4 hours in that building searching absolutely everywhere before I found it... a huge pile of sonic comics covered up in a bin filled with clean laundry.
It definitely was "The Motherload".
I haven't had the time to search through all the comics I got, but I can tell you that I got most every issue between StH#33 and StH#143, almost every single Knuckles comic (excluding maybe two or three), most of the Sonic Super Specials, and a bunch of mini series and one-shots. I. Am. ECSTATIC!!!!
My collection just grew SOOOO much in one day, I'm so happy.
Three other things to note, many of the comics remain unopened from their shipping plastic wrap, one of the knuckles comics is signed by Ken Penders, and I also got some random non-sonic comic I've never heard of before
I'll find out the name and ask you guys about it later.
Anyways, once I sort through all the comics I'll post a more detailed report of all the comics I got!
A big thank you to Gru, for giving me the comics; and Maggie, for organizing the scavenger hunt! You two are the best!
